Wasim Akram agrees to train young individuals “twice a year”

Legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram agrees to provide his services in helping young, aspiring fast bowlers, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shaharyar M Khan revealed.

Akram came to Karachi to lead a training camp for fast bowlers which was organized in the National Stadium. The training camp lasted for 13 days in which young bowlers were taught different techniques by the legendary left-arm fast bowler.

Akram’s services were greatly acknowledged and appreciated by the chairman himself.

He said,

“There is no doubt, whatsoever, in my mind that Wasim’s availability would definitely benefit Pakistan cricket. It is great news for us because engaging Wasim in training the youngsters would definitely improve the quality of our fast bowling.”

He also added that,

“Wasim had always wanted to give something to Pakistan cricket and this time we are very happy that he has gratefully agreed to come here twice yearly, to train and provide expert advice to our talented youngsters.”

Akram’s views about the camp were greatly appreciated. The legendary fast bowler expressed his gratitude by saying that,

“I thoroughly enjoyed every moment in the camp over the past 13 days. The passion and the commitment I saw in the eyes of the trainees were amazing.”

The Sultan of Swing also added that,

“The enthusiasm I noted was brilliant. Everybody was so eager to grasp the knowledge of whatever we taught them. To come from remote areas is itself a huge achievement and these players show that Pakistan is full of talented people. I will be extremely and honored to make myself available for future camps because in my opinion, I owe Pakistan a lot. Everything that I have achieved is all because of Pakistan.”
