During Ramazan, we all plan on utilizing the month for some fitness, health and weight loss. But more often than not, we end up resting and napping as much as possible after sehri and feeling lazy and full after iftar. There is also a trend of gaining weight during Ramazan instead of losing it, as surprising as that sounds.
So, this Ramzan, let’s make it a goal to avoid unhealthy behaviors, and take a step in the right direction.
Avoid Oily Foods
Oily foods have a tendency to weigh us down. And it can be much harder to muster up energy and stay active when there’s heavy food in our systems. If there are deep fried items on the table, it’s best to consume them in moderation. But we encourage avoiding them altogether if you can! Yes that aloo ka samosa too.
Go for Post-Iftar Walks
If you can’t go for a run at any point during the day, you can always take a walk after iftar. This will help your metabolism work faster and speed-up digestion. It will also keep you from feeling lethargic and sleepy after iftar.

Eat Smart During Sehri
You should avoid carb heavy foods that’ll settle like stone in your stomach. Go for protein rich foods instead, such as, chicken, peaches, beans, etc. These will make you feel full for a long time, without making your insides feel clogged up.
You can also add things like cucumber and yogurt in order to ensure you’re hydrated. This will keep your energies up and you are less likely to nap in the middle of the day.
Avoid Sugary Foods
Sugar may give you a boost of energy but it will also be the cause of the sugar crash that comes later. You will just feel tired and exhausted, making you want to rest and you will be too drained to get any work done.
So, considering that fruits already have sugar in them, let’s not sprinkle some added sugar on our fruit chaats.
Make Time for Quick Light Workout
It can be tough to squeeze in time to work out or exercise during Ramazan because everything happens pretty fast. However, try and find a time which works for you.
