Delicious Soup Recipes for Winter

1. Cabbage Soup

People who are planning to get rid of the extra love handles this winter, can go for this soup which consists mainly of cabbage.

Ingredients: (for one person, thrice a day)

  • Carrots: 2 finely chopped
  • Cabbage: ½
  • Capsicum: 1
  • Mushrooms: 1 can
  • Tomatoes: 2 (diced)
  • Onions: 2 small (finely chopped)
  • Chicken powder: 1
  • Water: 8 glasses


  1. Add in all of the ingredients to water once it has boiled and leave it on low heat for 1 ½ hour.
  2. Spice it up as per taste.
  3. You may add paprika powder, black or white pepper and hot sauce.
  4. Avoid salt.
  5. If you do not like the chunks in your soup then blend them.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!

2. Chicken Corn Soup

  • Boneless chicken: 100 grams
  • Egg: 1
  • Corn flour: 4 tablespoons
  • Salt: as per taste
  • Black pepper: ¼ teaspoon
  • White pepper: ¼ teaspoon
  • Chicken broth: 3 cups
  • Carrot: 1
  • Onion: ½
  • Green onions: 1 stalk
  • Cooked corns: 1 cup


  1. Add shredded boiled chicken to the chicken broth.
  2. Add in carrots and onions. After 15 minutes take them out.
  3. Put corn, white pepper and black pepper to the mixture.
  4. Mix the corn flour in water and then add it to the broth.
  5. Beat an egg and add it to the broth gradually.
  6. Let it cook on low heat for 10 minutes and then serve hot!

3. Chicken Cream Soup

  • Butter: ½ cup(melted)
  • Onion: 1 (medium)
  • Carrots: 2 (finely chopped)
  • Flour: ½ cup + 1 tablespoon
  • Chicken broth: 7 cups
  • Parsley: 3 stalks
  • Shredded chicken: 2 ¾ cups
  • Heavy cream: ½ cup
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper: as per taste


  1. Add carrots, celery and onion to butter in a pot.
  2. Stir till the vegetables become soft and then add in flour.
  3. Cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the broth and stir.
  5. Add all the herbs.
  6. Let it simmer for 15 minutes.
  7. Add in chicken and turn off the heat after 2 minutes.
  8. Whisk salt and heavy cream into the soup.
  9. Serve with fish crackers!

4. Hot and Sour Soup

  • Chicken broth: 4 cups
  • Cooked and shredded chicken: 1 cup
  • Onions: 1 cup chopped
  • Cabbage: 1 cup chopped
  • Carrots: 2 medium (sliced)
  • Capsicum: 2 medium (sliced)
  • White pepper: ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper: ½ teaspoon
  • Sugar: 1 teaspoon
  • Egg: 1
  • Flour: 1 tablespoon
  • Chicken cube: 1
  • Corn flour: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt: as per taste
  • Soya sauce: 3 tablespoons
  • Vinegar: 2 tablespoons
  • Chili sauce: 1 tablespoon
  • Oil: 2 tablespoons


  1. Mix all the spices, vegetables, 3 cups of broth, and vinegar and cook on low heat.
  2. Do not add spring onions and corn flour yet.
  3. Add boiled and shredded chicken.
  4. Mix corn flour in one cup of broth and then add to the pot which contains the soup.
  5. Cook till the soup thickens a bit.
  6. Beat an egg and add it to the soup.
