Most nutritionists are of the opinion that a well balanced diet is essential for clear and beautiful skin. However, there are some specific foods that you need to focus more on so you can add that special glow to you complexion. These foods are not just easy on your pocket, but they are also easily available.

1.Low-Fat Dairy Products

One very vital components of skin care is Vitamin A. What better source is there for it than a traditional tall glass of milk every day? Milk has abundant amounts of Vitamin A and nutritionists recommend that you have your daily dose of dairy. Just make sure you’\re taking low-fat milk and not full cream. In case of a thyroid condition or diabetes, it is twice as much more important to consume Vitamin A rich foods.

2.Strawberries

Strawberries have large amounts of Vitamin A and a single serving can give you more nutritional value than that of oranges or grapefruit. These delicious berries also have anti-aging effects on your skin, making it feel soft and supple. Strawberries also have Vitamin C which helps warding off free radicals and prevents damage caused by them to the collagen in your skin, helping to keep wrinkles at bay.

Healthy Tip: For a better hydrated and smoother skin, it is recommended to apply a natural berry mask to the face twice a week.

3.Olive Oil

Olive oil has excellent anti-inflammatory properties which reflect not just on your health but your appearance as well. It fights off free radicals and reduces inflammation.

Green tea does much more than relaxing your muscles after a long and tiring day. Its special inflammation-fighting antioxidants help protect the skin from free-radical damage. A new discovery has suggested a link between consuming green tea that results in a decreased risk of skin cancer.

Health Tip: Want to maximize effects of green tea? Give it a little lemon squeeze and stir it properly before having it. The citrus will make the good ingredients stay in your body for longer.

Health Tip: If you have puffiness in your eyes, you can easily get rid of them by placing damp, cooled tea bags of green tea on your eyes for 10-15 minutes.

5.Pomegranate

These fruits are crammed with inflammation-fighting anti-oxidants and help generate healthier skin cells. When in season, eat as many as you can.

Health Tip: Mash the fruit to a pulp and apply it to your face like a facial scrub. This helps remove dead skin cells. Follow this health tip twice a week.

6.Salmon

Salmon is jam-packed with essential fatty acids. Essential fatty acids are important for the uprightness of cell membranes. This serves as a barrier to harmful substances and allows a passageway for vital nutrients instead. It is also retains water in the skin, keeping  it always hydrated and making it look healthy, fresh and plump.
