The summer season is here and with increasing temperatures, people look for quick and easy ways to cool down. They opt for soft drinks, juices etc. But instead of this, we should incorporate the healthier options which include fresh juices, shakes and smoothies.

We all know how kids are in the summers, full of energy and enthusiasm. To keep them going, their nutritional intake should also be taken into consideration by their loved ones. Here are some of the most popular smoothie recipes to keep your child happy.

Banana Berry Smoothie

A handful of berries (raspberry, blueberries), a single banana (peeled), 2 tsp. honey, ice and 6 oz (180 ml) of pineapple juice and add a little bit of grated ginger to give the smoothie a kick.

Directions: Blitz all the ingredients in the blender until you achieve a nice consistency.

Nutritional Value: Berries have immense nutritional value. They are a high source of Vitamin C, support heart health, act as antioxidants and can also help to reduce cancer.

Banana-Peanut Butter Smoothie

Chop up a banana into two pieces, along with a cup of milk, 1 tsp. of peanut butter and some ice cubes.

Directions: Use the blender to mix up all the ingredients until a smooth consistency is achieved.

Mango-Strawberry Smoothie

We all know how kids love mangoes. You can use this amazing fruit and give it a nice blend with strawberries for your kid to enjoy. Take a cup of fresh strawberries, a cup of mango nectar or pureed mangoes, some ice cubes and half a cup of plain yoghurt.

Directions: Incorporate all the ingredients, blend it thoroughly until all the goodness is mixed and serve it chilled. If the consistency is thicker than your liking you can add some water.

Oatmeal Smoothie

Oatmeal Smoothie is a blend of great nutritional value for your child. Try to incorporate this in the regular breakfast meals by giving it a more colorful twist. The ingredients are 1 cup of ice, a single banana, half cup of strawberries, 1 tbsp. honey, half cup of oats and some liquid (juice or water).
