WHO: 1000 Children Die Every Day Due To Unavailability of Vaccines

WHO Regional Director, Dr. Ala Alwan, has warned that more than 1,000 children die every day because of the unavailability of vaccines.

According to details, Dr. Ala Alwan said that Pakistan is amongst the top countries of the region where children are dying because they are not getting vaccines. Pakistan is not moving according to the expectations of WHO towards the million goals. He said that accountability at district level in Pakistan is a major problem besides terrorism. Due to the unavailability of basic vaccines, almost 1000 children die each year under the age of 5. In Punjab, 59% areas are vaccinated where as in Balochistan, the figure goes down to 16%.
