Special Children Face More Exploitation In Developing Countries

According to UNICEF, data was collected from approximately 46,000 children between the ages of 2 and 17 years. The report indicated that children with physical and mental impairments were quite often mistreated in developing countries where there was limited awareness about the nature of such impairments. It has been suggested that there are estimated to 93 lakh children with some form of mental or physical impairment in the world. According to research Jennifer Lance Ford, some of the children are subjected to physical punishments such as being hit on the head with a stick.
