While briefing journalists about the incident, the superintendent of Gaddani Customs, Karimullah Gailaal, confirmed that the F.C. and Gaddani Customs had received alerts about the transportation of smuggled oil. Upon further investigation, the involved officials were able to intercept 5 oil tankers carrying thousands of liters of smuggled diesel from Iran. The tankers were seized near Bela crossing.
