Research on Dementia – Preventive Measures of the Disease

Research on Dementia – According to a new review led by UCL researchers, people with mild cognitive impairment are at a higher risk of developing dementia, especially if they have diabetes or psychiatric symptoms such as depression.

The lead author of the research explained that there are strong links between mental and physical health, so keeping your body healthy can also keep your brain working properly. The Alzheimer’s Society charity recommends that people stay socially and physically active, eat more fruits and vegetables and eat less meat and fats to help prevent dementia. The research concluded that early intervention can reduce the ever increasing burden of this disease.
