As has been observed recently in other cities, the trend of price hikes for food items has hit Faisalabad too. Shopkeepers are quoting prices that are close to double the original prices.Locals are of the opinion that the government failed in its efforts to control prices. Even during the month of Ramadan, the price of flour was raised to Rs.800 for a 20 kg bag, while staple vegetables such as potatoes, onions and tomatoes were being sold for Rs.100 per kilo.
