92

In a research conducted at the London School of Economics and Political Science, Dr. Costa Font, Associate Professor, concluded that nurture, not nature is the key to reducing child obesity.

In this research, biological and adopted children, were compared in different controlled situations.
The findings of the research showed that overweight parents had 21% higher chance of having overweight ‘adopted’ children. This percentage for biological children was 27%. The Research explained Obesity as a genetic problem. According to Dr. Costa Font, policy to solve the issue must involve parents who are the model for kids (bache) and especially mothers who cook and feed.
