An alarmingly high number of patients have been diagnosed with liver related concerns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. While the government has initiated a vaccination campaign for Hepatitis, the high number of patients has resulted in a shortage in the supply of vaccinations. There are no liver transplant facilities in the province. According to experts, lack of awareness about health related issues is a prime cause of the increase in the incidence of hepatitis in the region.
