In order to ensure the support of PML-N, Karachi University held an organized ceremony that executed without any hiccups. The management of KU decided to close the university for one day. The laptops were distributed under the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme. Maryam Nawaz was invited as the chief guest for the event and she performed well. Only 170 M.Phil. and PhD students were invited to the event. To avoid any chances of students chanting anti-Nawaz slogans, the management of Karachi University decided to close the entire university on the day of the ceremony.
