Islamabad: Hospitals On High Alert For Blood Donations
According to reports, hospitals in the twin cities have a cumulative total of 1082 bottles of blood. A large proportion of this blood is from the positive range; there are dangerously few bottles of blood from the negative group. A hospital wise breakdown reveals that Holy Family Hospital’s blood bank has 700, Benazir Hospital has 250, and DHQ has 132 bottles. Given the current situation, these hospitals would not be able to adequately handle the pressure of an emergency situation. Relevant NGOs as well as locals have been alerted and are being encouraged to contribute to the amelioration of this crisis.
