As far as the Champions League is concerned, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Atletico Madrid qualified for the semifinal draws, whilst in the UEFA Europa League the four teams which made it to the semifinals are Liverpool, Athletic Bilbao, Villareal and Shakhtar Doneskt.
Real Madrid beat German outfit Wolfsburg to reach the semifinals, courtesy of an aggregate of 3-2. The Galacticos will be facing English team Manchester City next. The latter beat French champions Paris Saint Germain 3-2 on aggregate as well. Atletico Madrid will be facing Bayern Munich in the semifinals as they beat the defending champions, FC Barcelona to reach this stage of the competition. German champions Bayern Munich defeated Portuguese side Benfica to reach the last four of the elusive competition.
English side, Liverpool defeated Borrusia Dortumund 4-3 on aggregate to qualify for the last four of the competiton. The Reds have been drawn against the dark horses of the competition, Villareal. Spanish side Athletic Bilbao defeated defending champions Sevilla to book their place in the semifinals, where they will face Russian juggernaut, Shakhtar Doneskt.
