The Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority has stopped the monitoring of blood banks, due to which illegal blood selling has started in many areas of Karachi.
As per details, many private hospitals and NGOs are collecting blood and selling plasma and other components of blood to private hospitals. The Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority, even after receiving information about this, has not taken any actions. Even the blood donated on the birthday of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was divided into its 4 major components by illegal blood sellers and sold to private hospitals and NGOs. No actions have been made by the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority to continue the supply of blood.
