Alarming Increase In Heart Problems Among Pakistani Youth
According to Major General Dr. Azhar Mehmood Kiyani (Retd.), the Chief of the Punjab Institute Of Cardiology Rawalpindi, a steadily rising number of heart problem cases are being reported by youth aged between 19-23 years. In his address at the Fifth All Pakistan Congress Of Preventive Cardiology, Dr. Kiyani said that research attributes this recent trend to bad habits including smoking, watching T.V. excessively, addiction to video games and computer usage. Unhealthy dietary habits also contribute heavily to poor heart health. There is a dire need for the younger generation to exercise regularly and eat healthy foods.
