Do you want to make your real skin simply smooth, clean and clear? It’s not so hard. You do not have to cover yourself up with layers and layers of makeup to make your skin look flawless. The key is to eat and drink the right things and most importantly, be consistent, because without consistency the effect will not last longer.

Eating tomato-based foods have been proven to promote healthy skin, whether it’s eating raw tomatoes or a tomato-based sauce. The lycopene found in tomatoes is the hero that fights off all the bad chemicals and rays that damage our skin. Lycopene is the same chemical compound that gives tomatoes their characteristic red colour. Increased lycopene consumption lowers acne-promoting hormones in the body. Also, lycopene alone with the other carotenoids does wonders at elevating your antioxidant levels. The antioxidants protect your skin from free radical damage that occurs from excessive UV light exposure.

2. Green Tea to Slow Aging

For a radiant and glowing skin, it is more important to focus on what you put in your body and not on it.

To extract the benefits of green tea, you should brew yourself at least three to five cups every day. The antioxidant crammed in green tea will make your skin look more youthful while slowing the aging process. A hormone found in the body, namely, dihydrotestosterone, makes your skin prone to acne. The chemicals found in green tea lowers the DHT, ultimately help fight acne.

Another important key to youthful skin is, hydration. If you want quicker results, especially to get rid of acne, drink at least 2 to 4 litres of water or 8 full glasses of water every day. Drinking water helps your body flush out toxins while keeping you hydrated throughout the day. Also, keeping in mind that the skin is the last organ of your body to receive water, it is mandatory to drink ample for it to reach the skin to hydrate it enough.
